Again, the hemp wicks are used, not for political correctness, but for their performance with the soy. Like before, it turned out to be the best thing to use. The fact that they are lead free is an added bonus, although most wicks nowadays are.
I use regular fragrance oil scents. I tried the all natural essential oils, but found them to be unpredictable in burning. Besides, I wanted to reproduce the scents I was previously buying in candles for my home, which were often not essential oils.
We specialize in the most powerfully scented, natural soy wax container candles available at any price. We use hemp wicks and heavy canning jars for safety. When I started, my goal was simply to produce the gourmet candles that I loved so much, but could no longer afford. They were $20 a piece! I tried the candles that you could purchase in department or the grocery stores, but the quality was not the same with these. They were dumping soot everywhere and did'nt burn consistently. So I began experimenting. It took a year and many failures, but I finally came up with a candle that not only matched, but exceeded the quality I was paying $20 for.
I chose to use Soy wax due to its creamy consistency, superior burn, phenomenal scent throw, and lack of soot. I did experiment with paraffin wax with the idea that if the local big name producer used it, it must be great. Not so.
